The Wonderful World of Pinterest
I recently signed up for Pinterest and I’m finding it confusing. Here’s why:
1. People are following me and I haven’t even done anything.
2. I find it challenging to categorize my interests.
3. I don’t like my social media sites linked together and could do without everything being posted to my Facebook.
4. The most disconcerting thing- I don’t understand its privacy policy (and read this article here). What ever happened to owning your content? I see pictures of people implementing their “Pinterest Hairstyles”, craft or food ideas and posting it on Facebook. How does this terminology even exist? The content came from somewhere.
Yes, I see the irony in posting about one social media site on another. I’m sure I’ll get over my aversion to this new world but not until I understand how it works!
